Something I truly live by are multivitamins. Roughly three months ago I found myself feeling tired and down. After speaking with my physician, he had suggested that I start to take a multivitamin, to ensure my body gets the vitamins and minerals it needs. Yes, we all get a lot of nutrients from food, especially fruits and vegetables, but we miss essential nutrients, which can higher the risk for heart disease, stroke, cancer and other health concerns. According to Times, adults should consume 1.5-2 cups of fruit and 2-3 cups of vegetables daily. Personally, I take One a Day Women’s Multivitamin because I want to be proactive about my health. This tablet contains vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E, and K. While most of you have no idea what these different types of vitamins mean, I’m going to explain them:
- Vitamin C: A strong antioxidant known for strengthening the immune system and reducing allergy symptoms.
- Vitamin D/E: Help boost immunity and supports eye health to protect the eyes from harmful light.
- Vitamin K: Water-soluble vitamin.
- Vitamin A: Healthier hair and skin; can make hair fuller.
- Vitamin B: Helps boost energy levels, feelings of well-being, as well as a decrease in stress and anxiety.
- Vitamin B6: Can help reduce cardiovascular disease.
- Vitamin B12: Reduce risk of some cancers.
Taking multivitamins help cover for deficiencies in your diet. Unfortunately, most foods in the United States are processed, and multivitamins provide for what processing removes from our food. Multivitamins can help us make up for nutritional shortfalls when we’re not getting a sufficient amount of whole foods in our diets. They’re almost like a safety net to ensure that you are consuming plenty of vitamins and minerals. So, I recommend all of you choose a multivitamin and take it in the morning before starting your day. I truly believe you will all start to see a healthy difference in your energy and body, to make for a better life. To learn more about the best multivitamins visit Reviews.com.
